Udinese made it two wins from two Serie A games with a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina thanks to first-half goals by Antonio Di Natale and Mauricio Isla.
Di Natale converted an early penalty before Isla fired home an unstoppable shot after half an hour to maintain their early 100% record.
It was the Viola who threatened first but Albert Gilardino missed from 10 yards.
They were left to rue that miss when Udinese opened the scoring five minutes later when Alessandro Gamberini handled Medhi Benatia's header and the referee awarded a penalty which Di Natale put low in the right-hand corner.
Fiorentina were creating chances, Alessio Cerci failing to get the final touch in the six-yard box before Stevan Jovetic fired in a shot which was easily held by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
The hosts counter-attacked through Isla whose cross to the far post was controlled by Di Natale but his shot was saved by Artur Boruc.
Udinese soon doubled their lead though when Isla unleashed a bullet shot into the top right-hand corner with Boruc well beaten.
Handanovic comfortably saved from Cerci before Di Natale missed a chance to make it 3-0 when he shot just wide.
Riccardo Montolivo fired just over for Fiorentina before Di Natale was narrowly wide again on the brink of half-time.
Cerci failed to convert at the near post as Fiorentina searched for a way back but it was the hosts who more threatening. Isla put a header wide and Di Natale was denied by a diving save from Boruc with the same player shooting wide from the edge of the area.
