Real Sociedad drew even so, upon entering the match, Messi tried to draw a PK via jumpy/fally theatrics, thus inspiring ever-whining Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho to take a veiled shot, and other haters to jerk their "this is why Americans hate soccer" knees.

Embarrassing, sure. But here's what really hurts Barcelona: newly signed forward Alexis Sanchez tore a thigh muscle in the match and will be out 6-to-8 weeks. They'll host AC Milan in their opening UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday.
