Sneijder: Set to face United winger Ashley Young when England meet Holland in a friendly
Ashley Young admits Wesley Sneijder is a 'terrific player', but adopted a diplomatic stance when asked if he would like to see the Inter Milan playmaker join Manchester United.
Sneijder has repeatedly been linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer as Sir Alex Ferguson contemplates a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes.
Ferguson has consistently played down suggestions that discussions are taking place regarding a deal for Sneijder, while Inter have also stated there are no negotiations.
However, the former Real Madrid schemer reignited the rumours about his future over the weekend by claiming that Inter would be prepared to sell for the right price.
Great
Sneijder insisted he had not held talks with United, or their local rivals City, amid reports Inter are willing to accept £35million for the 27-year-old.
Young is likely to face Sneijder on Wednesday when England meet the Netherlands in a friendly, but the winger refused to be drawn on the possibility of the two becoming club team-mates.
"He's a terrific player," said Young, who joined United from Aston Villa earlier in the summer and made his debut in Sunday's Community Shield win over Manchester City.
"He's done great throughout his career for club and country.
"He's an Inter Milan player, that's all I can say about him to be honest."
