Owen Coyle has told Arsenal to put up or shut up over £17m defender Gary Cahill.

England ace Gary Cahill is desperate for his summer of frustration to end by joining Arsenal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger heads the queue for 25-year-old, ahead of Tottenham and Chelsea.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle does not want to lose his star man but he will not stand in his way, especially as the club stand to make a £12m profit after signing Cahill from Aston Villa for £5m in January 2008.

Coyle wants the saga over Cahill’s future to end after revealing the player had reported back for preseason training “frustrated” by the speculation.

Coyle said: “There has been various interest in Gary. Clubs have made their interest known but there have been no concrete bids.

“They are big clubs but it is up to them to back that up.

“I don’t want to lose Gary but the sooner something happens, one way or another, the better.”

Coyle has already signed Swansea midfi elder Darren Pratley on a free. But he is eager to add more faces after losing Johan Elmander, with Daniel Sturridge returning to Chelsea after his loan spell.

He is keen on Manchester City’s out-of-favour winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and has also bid £4m for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane. Coyle has met Spurs’ valuation after Blackburn had a £2m bid for Keane blocked last week.
