LONDON (AFP) - Bolton reserve goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has signed a new contract which will see him remain at the Reebok Stadium until 2014, the club confirmed today.
The Hungarian 23-year-old, who is being groomed as a successor to Jussi Jaaskelainen, joined Bolton from Vasas SC in August 2007 and has so far made only a handful of first team appearances.
However Bolton boss Owen Coyle sees Bogdan as a player of the future along with younger talent such as Mark Davies, Fabrice Muamba and Lee Chung-Young.
"We're delighted that Adam's committed himself to a new contract. It shows that we're investing in young players and trying to build the football club with that nucleus of those young players," Coyle said.
"Mark Davies, Fabrice Muamba and Lee Chung-yong have all committed themselves to new deals at the club and Adam's the same.
"Since I came to the football club he's been outstanding and to have a young goalkeeper of that ilk commit himself is great news for everybody."
Coyle said Bogdan would benefit from working alongside veteran Jaaskelainen, 35, widely regarded as one of the best keepers in the league.
"Jussi has probably been one of, if not the, top performers in the Barclays Premier League for the last 10 years and for Adam to work with someone of that quality, it can only help him," he said.
