FORMER Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has already won over some fans of his new club – by donating crates of beer to three LA Galaxy supporter groups on Saturday.

But it looks like he has a lot of work to do if he is to become widely known by the Los Angeles public judging from this short clip.

Hilarious footage shows Sky Sports News reporter Vinny O'Connor quiz several people on the Galaxy's new signing.

But each question about Gerrard is met with a confused look.

One man thinks the Major League Soccer club have bought the midfield star from Manchester United.

But many had never heard of the legendary player.

Gerrard was unveiled to fans on Saturday after a LA Galaxy game.

He donated beer with a note which read: "As a token of my appreciation for what you do for the club, I wanted to provide you with some refreshments for the 4th of July.

"I wish I could play tonight. The first game just can't come quick enough. I'm really looking forward to a successful future and I'm happy."
