7M - Barcelona Holds Firm on Ferran Torres Future
Posted Monday, July 27, 2026 by 7M Sport

FC Barcelona has clarified its official position regarding Ferran Torres amid growing transfer speculation. The 26-year-old forward recently delivered outstanding performances for Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring the winning goal against Argentina to secure the championship.
While several prominent European sides—including Luis Enrique's Paris Saint-Germain—have monitored his situation, Barcelona has not received any formal offers or exit requests from the player, his agents, or outside clubs.
Torres remains under contract until June 2027. Barcelona intends to hold contract extension talks in September after the transfer window closes. This timeline accounts for Financial Fair Play considerations and a clause from his previous transfer that requires Barcelona to pay Manchester City 8 million euros upon extending his deal.
The club views Torres as an important part of the roster for the upcoming season and expects him to rejoin the squad after his vacation. His status will only change if Torres himself explicitly asks to leave and a mutually beneficial offer arrives.
