Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola is set for a busy few weeks in the summer transfer window as he builds towards the 2026/27 Premier League season start.
Iraola has already completed a swoop for Spain international Victor Munoz alongside the arrival of Jeremy Jacquet as part of a pre-agreed deal with Rennes.
The Basque coach is expected to look at several options to improve his squad, with a right-sided attacker a key target, following the departure of club legend Mohamed Salah.
Former Liverpool star Michael Owen has offered his view on potential options, and he’s called on Iraola to consider a bold move for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen, following the Hammers relegation.
“I think Alexander Isak's an important player for Liverpool this season with Mo Salah's goals out of the equation and Hugo Ekitike being injured,” Owen told the Liverpool Echo via Casino.org.
“If Ekitike's not going to be out forever, if you go and spend a fortune and get another centre-forward, you've got an embarrassment of riches already, really. So, I don't think we should be buying a centre-forward.
“Jarrod Bowen's just crying out. I mean, there's no risk. He's brilliant. He'll score plenty of goals, and he's played in the Premier League.
“I don't want to upset West Ham fans, but surely someone of his quality can't be playing in the Championship for a year.”
Bowen is rumoured to be also on Everton’s radar, as part of a possible 320M reunion with David Moyes, but Ekitike injury absence could force Iraola into the market across multiple positions.
