England make Thomas Tuchel sack decision after World Cup elimination

Thomas Tuchel's position as England manager is reportedly safe even after their elimination from the World Cup.

England took the lead through Anthony Gordon in the 55th minute, but two late goals from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez secured a late comeback win for Argentina.

Having taken the lead, Tuchel decided to make several substitutions, parking the bus and allowing Argentina to dominate the game.

Lionel Messi and co will now face off against Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday (July 19) in New Jersey.

According to The Standard, England are expected to keep their faith in Tuchel despite his puzzling decision in their biggest game since 1966.

Tuchel has already agreed a contract extension through to Euro 2028, and the FA’s intention remains to keep him for that tournament unless there is a major collapse.
