Man United pulled out of Ederson deal in favour of Manu Kone pursuit

Man United reportedly decided to pull out of a deal to sign Ederson in order to switch their attention to a move for Roma midfielder Manu Kone.

Michael Carrick’s side looked set to sign Ederson, 27, from Atlantan for a reported 335 million as part of their midfield rebuild.

It has since been widely reported that the deal has collapsed, and Ederson is now expected to remain in Italy.

According to Sky Italia (via Football Italia), the real reason behind Man United’s change of heart is Roma’s Kone rather than the initially reported fitness concerns.

It’s understood that United have now switcher their attention to the France international and will now prioritise a move for Kone.
