AC Milan submit €22m bid for Lazio defender Gila

AC Milan are close to completing the signing of Lazio defender Mario Gila, with the Spanish centre-back emerging as Ruben Amorim’s top defensive target ahead of the new season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are nearing an agreement, with Milan offering €22 million and Lazio seeking €25 million before bonuses.

The gap is considered small, and negotiations are expected to progress quickly. Milan have already reached a personal agreement with Gila on a contract worth around €5 million net per season.

Amorim has reportedly spoken directly with the defender to outline his plans at San Siro.

Gila’s arrival would strengthen Milan’s backline and represent a significant transfer success ahead of rivals Napoli, who had also shown interest in the 24-year-old.
