7M - Klopp set for Germany job after Nagelsmann exit

Jurgen Klopp is set for a return to management, two years after stepping away from the dugout, following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation as Germany head coach.
The Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund legend had repeatedly insisted he would not take another club role after leaving Anfield, but he appears ready to make an exception for his national team.
Germany crashed out of the World Cup in the Round of 32, stunned on penalties by Paraguay – extending their winless run in World Cup knockout ties since their 2014 triumph.
Initially, reports suggested Nagelsmann wanted to stay despite the defeat. However, within 48 hours, the situation had shifted. According to Marca, a meeting between Nagelsmann and the German Football Federation (DFB) left both parties unconvinced about continuing. Shortly after, Nagelsmann submitted his resignation.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Jurgen Klopp is the leading candidate to replace him. Over the past two years, Klopp has repeatedly dismissed links to other jobs, often voicing frustration over speculation placing him at clubs like Real Madrid. For the last 18 months, he has served as Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer, overseeing football operations for the Austrian conglomerate. Yet Romano says Klopp is open to taking charge of die Mannschaft, and the DFB have now confirmed they will hold talks with the 59-year-old.
Klopp is understood to have an exit clause in his Red Bull contract specifically for the Germany job. It would mark his first role in international football and just his fourth managerial position overall, despite his illustrious career. Germany will be hoping for a turnaround after a string of disappointing tournament campaigns.
