Chelsea consider shock move for 28-year-old Rayo Vallecano ace as Cucurella replacement

Chelsea are reportedly considering a shock move for Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria as a replacement for Marc Cucurella.

Cucurella, 27, made the move from Chelsea to Real Madrid for a reported fee of around €60 million earlier in June.

Chelsea are now on the lookout for a replacement and have been linked with the likes of academy graduate Lewis Hall.

According to Marca, however, Xabi Alonso’s new side are looking to raid Rayo Vallecano for Chavarria, 28, as their new left-back.

It’s understood that Chelsea will tweak their transfer approach this summer and sign players who are ready made to compete for the Premier League.

This move would come as quite the shock, however, with Alonso’s former side Bayer Leverkusen also interested.
