Nico Paz with Lionel Messi
Tottenham continue to show ambition in the transfer market, with Nico Paz emerging as their latest target.
Spurs have already strengthened significantly this summer, bringing in Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke to bolster their defence, while Martin Dubravka is arriving to provide competition in goal.
The club has also been exploring midfield reinforcements this week, holding talks over Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, with Adam Wharton remaining another player under consideration.
Now, sources have confirmed to Flashscore that Tottenham are among the clubs showing serious interest in Paz.
Real Madrid have activated their €9 million buyback clause to re-sign the 21-year-old from Como, but Jose Mourinho does not see him as a natural fit for the system he is building. As a result, the Spanish giants are open to selling Paz for a significant profit this summer.
Flashscore understands Tottenham have been kept informed of developments throughout the process and are open to making a move.
Madrid are expected to demand upwards of €60 million for the Argentina international. Former club Como, along with Inter Milan, Arsenal and Chelsea, have been made aware of the likely direction of his future.
Spurs remain determined to add more creativity to their squad. They have been in detailed talks with Manchester City over Savinho, although negotiations have progressed reasonably slowly.
Paz is viewed as an attractive target, with his age, technical quality and long-term potential making him one of the standout young attacking midfielders becoming available this summer.
