Bosnia and Herzegovina eliminated Qatar from the World Cup after a 3-1 victory at Seattle Stadium, boosting their own prospects of advancing to the knockout stage.
The European side broke the deadlock in the 29th minute through an outstanding strike from 18-year-old talent Kerim Alajbegovic. Just five minutes later, Bosnia-Herzegovina doubled their advantage when an Edin Dzeko cross took a lucky deflection off Qatari defender Sultan Al-Brake for an own goal.
Qatar responded before the interval as captain Hassan Al-Haydos found the net from an Edmilson Junior pass to pull one back.
The match was put beyond doubt in the 80th minute when substitute Ermin Mahmic struck a crucial third goal for Bosnia-Herzegovina, igniting wild celebrations among their supporters and securing a vital win.
