Cristian Romero performs sensational Tottenham U-turn

Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has reportedly decided to stay and fight for his place under Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs have already added Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke to their central defensive options with the club expected to have a busy summer.

Current captain Romero, 28, was expected to leave the club following a second consecutive 17th place Premier League finish.

Now, according to SportsBoom, the Argentina international has informed the club of his desire to remain in North London and help them climb up the table next season.

Man United have previously been linked with a move for Romero, as have Spanish sides Real and Atletico Madrid.
