Julian Alvarez confirms desire to leave Atletico Madrid and 'fulfill my dream'

Julian Alvarez has confirmed he has spoken to Atletico Madrid and is looking to leave the club this summer.

The 26-year-old is subject to interest from several top European clubs, most notably Barcelona, who are searching for their Robert Lewandowski replacement.

Real Madrid even made a bizarre €150 million bid for Alvarez, as promised by Florentino Perez during the election, but were rebuffed by Atletico.

Now, speaking to ESPN after Argentina’s 2-0 World Cup win over Austria, Alvarez has confirmed his desire to leave Atletico.

"I can't hide either. I try to be an honest person. I spoke with the people at the club I needed to speak with. The best thing for everyone is a transfer, and I want to fulfill my dream,” he said.
