Man City in the "the final stages" of completing Anderson deal despite Man Utd interest

Manchester City are set to complete the deal for Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson despite interest from Manchester United.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to be seeking a package worth up to 3130M for Anderson who is currently at the World Cup representing an England side who are one of the favourites to go all the way this summer.

Reports state that a package worth around 3120M was rejected over the past week as Forest hold out for a record-breaking fee for the 23 year old who has his pick of the clubs.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano gave an update on the midfielder on Friday morning, revealing that City are now close to securing Anderson’s signature.

“Manchester City are confident to get Elliot Anderson deal done, now at the final stages after work behind the scenes.

“New round of talks to take place for the English midfielder who would undergo medical in the US before joining #MCFC if all goes to plan.”

Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali is also said to be on the wishlist for City who are set to be managed by former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca next season. If both are brought in, over 3200M is likely to be spent on just two players in what is a huge haul for the title chasing side.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes in Dallas, Texas as England beat Croatia 4-1 in a win where many eyes will have been on him throughout the clash.
