DONE DEAL: West Brom sign youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea

West Brom having confirmed the signing of young striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea.

Chelsea signed Morgan from Southampton as a 17-year-old back in 2022 for a reported fee of 33 million, but he failed to make a first-team appearance.

The now 20-year-old spent last season on loan with League One side Peterborough, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in 39 games.

West Brom have now confirmed Morgan’s permanent signing, joining the club for a fee believed to be around 34m, including a substantial sell-on clause.

"I heard of Albion's interest about two weeks ago. The club moved things on and we managed to get it all agreed pretty quickly," Morgan told the Albion website.

"My conversation with the manager (James Morrison) was good. He told me about the style of football he wants to play and how I'm going to fit into that.

"He also spoke about the work he wants to do with me to help bring out my best attributes. I've heard nothing but positive things so far and I understand how big the club is."
