Mikel Arteta wants Premier League star as Arsenal prepare Bradley Barcola bid

Arsenal have a long-standing interest in PSG winger Bradley Barcola.

Barcola is seen as a serious option to improve their left flank, as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard could both leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

But whilst PSG are intent on keeping the 23-year-old, Arsenal are preparing a bid for the Frenchman - according to The Independent - as Mikel Arteta aims to elevate the level of his attack.

The Gunners are "looking into the necessary details" before submitting an offer, and there is a possibility that Barcola isn't the only attacker Arsenal could capture.

Arteta's admiration for Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers is well-documented, and landing both would be a huge statement of intent ahead of their Premier League title defence.

Rogers, like Barcola, is currently playing at the World Cup, and it was the latter who enjoyed an incredible debut in the tournament, scoring a wonderful goal off the bench in France's 3-1 win over Senegal.

Encouragingly for the Gunners, Barcola was annoyed at Luis Enrique after being left out of the starting lineup for the Champions League final and could be open to an exit.
