Liverpool are weighing up a 3100M bid for Yan Diomande this summer as they replace Mohamed Salah.

Ivory Coast selected teenage Diomande to start up front for Sunday's World Cup Group E clash against Ecuador as the side grabbed a 1-0 to open their World Cup campaign.

The 19 year old was a natural selection for the national side after his first season in the Bundesliga saw him score 13 goals and assist another 10 in only 36 games for RB Leipzig.

With the Reds trying to replace Salah who called time on a glittering Anfield career last month, Diomande seems like the natural choice for manager Andoni Iraola who reportedly sees the teenager as his main target.

TalkSPORT report that Leipzig are holding out for a fee well in excess of 3100M and Liverpool are not hesitating at the price which is fitting for one of the world’s brightest young talents.

Diomande was one of several young players in the squad playing the first World Cup match of their career on Monday morning, with Liverpool keeping a close eye on the youngster as he shines for his country.

Liverpool also saw Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson play their final games for the club last month in what is a huge squad shift under Iraola who certainly has his work cut out for him ahead of the new season.

Ivory Coast continue their Group E campaign against Germany in Toronto on Saturday before their final group game comes against Cura7ao in Philadelphia on June 25th.
