Former Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia has backed Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak to fight for the World Cup Golden Boot.

Sweden beat Tunisia 5-1 to kickstart their World Cup with Yasin Ayari, Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Mattias Svanberg all getting their names on the scoresheet.

Gyokeres laid the ball off to the Liverpool striker near the halfway line before he drove forward and found the bottom corner.

Later in the game, the Arsenal star snatched a goal of his own as he found the third goal through a fine finish provided by the Liverpool star.

Sweden are in fine form after their first clash and speaking to Hajper, Valencia has backed Isak and Gyokeres to challenge for the World Cup Golden Boot in what would be an incredible feat for either player.

“Yes, I can see Viktor GyF6keres fighting for the Golden Boot. He has had a good season and a good Champions League, but we know there are also other interesting players who have done things well.

“I think it will be very difficult this year. The World Cup will also be like a battle to see who wins it. It is very even. I hope these players continue at that level, because as fans we really enjoy watching them.

“Who will perform better at the World Cup - Viktor GyF6keres or Alexander Isak? I think you will see stronger strikers, strikers who are not going to make so many runs in behind because of the heat and the pitches. It will be complicated.

“I think strikers will want to play more with their backs to goal and have more of the ball. Because it is going to be very hot, I do not think a striker will make 20 runs in behind the defence in one match.

“They will have to control their movement more, hold the ball up more and be very intelligent in this tournament. So it could suit Gyokeres more.”

Sweden know they are not among the favourites to top Group F and will next face Japan and Netherlands following their emphatic win as they find their place above their opponents.
