Sweden claimed a commanding 5-1 victory over Tunisia in a FIFA World Cup 2026 Group F match held at Estadio Monterrey in Guadalupe, propelling them to the top of the group standings.
The Swedish side took an early lead in the seventh minute when Yacine Ayari found the back of the net. In the 30th minute, Alexander Isak doubled the advantage by converting a precise pass from Viktor Gyokeres. Tunisia managed to pull one back just before the halftime whistle through a goal from Omar Rekik, sending the teams into the break at 2-1.
Sweden reasserted their dominance in the second half. In the 59th minute, Gyokeres turned from playmaker to goalscorer, netting Sweden's third to widen the gap. Late in the game, Mattias Svanberg put the result beyond doubt by striking the fourth goal. In stoppage time, the young Ayari capped off a brilliant individual performance by scoring his second goal of the match. Following a 2-2 draw between Japan and the Netherlands in the other group fixture, this resounding win leaves Sweden sitting comfortably at the summit of Group F.
