Man United hoping for cut-price Mateus Fernandes deal

Man United are reportedly hoping to sign Mateus Fernandes for cheaper than West Ham's 380 million asking price.

Fernandes, 21, is Man United priority midfield target with Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson expected to join Man City.

While the Portugal international is a cheaper alternative to Anderson, it’s been widely reported that West Ham have set their asking price at 380 million.

According to Football Insider, Man United will make an initial offer of 370 million, and expect West Ham to soften their stance.

It’s understood that the now relegated side have to earn around 3150 million from player sales this summer, with several others looking to leave.
