Argentina call up Marcos Senesi to replace injured Leonardo Balerdi

Argentina have called new Tottenham signing Marcos Senesi up to their World Cup squad to replace the injured Leonardo Balerdi.

Balerdi, 27, was forced to withdraw from Argentina’s 2026 World Cup squad as they seek to win back-to-back World Cup’s due to a calf injury.

Argentina have now confirmed that Senesi has been picked as the man to come in and replace the injured Marseille defender.

It’s been quite a week for the 29-year-old who recently secured a move to Tottenham after leaving Bournemouth as a free agent.

The now Tottenham centre back has just three caps for his national team.
