The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and FC Barcelona are working in close cooperation regarding the recovery of Lamine Yamal, prioritizing the forward's long-term health ahead of Spain's 2026 FIFA World Cup debut. The Barcelona starlet is working to return from a muscle injury sustained in late April, but the national team management remains committed to avoiding any unnecessary risks.
According to RFEF technical director Aitor Karanka, communication between the federation and the club has been completely transparent. While the young winger is highly motivated to participate in the tournament, Spain's management team has dismissed any reports of a fixed return date, stating that his integration will depend entirely on how he reacts to training.
Lamine Yamal is not the only fitness concern for head coach Luis de la Fuente, as the medical staff is also carefully monitoring Nico Williams and Victor Munoz. Despite these injury challenges, the reigning European champions embrace their status as tournament favorites, aiming to convert outside expectations into internal motivation.
