Man City preparing new Elliot Anderson bid as Man Utd lurk
Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson

Manchester City are preparing a new offer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson after their first bid was knocked back last week.

Anderson is City's top target to replace the departing Bernardo Silva after a stellar Premier League campaign for the Tricky Trees.

Impressing with his incredible ball-carrying skills and playmaking qualities, the 23-year-old has become one of the division's best talents, all while establishing himself as an England international.

But whilst his firmly focused on his first World Cup campaign, Man City are continuing their pursuit of Forest's No. 8 and are going to send another official bid for the midfielder.

Manchester United also remain "keen" on Anderson, but City have led the race for months and are confident of striking a deal this summer.

A gulf in valuation appears to be the key stumbling block, though, as Nottingham Forest want over 3100 million for their prized asset and more than what Arsenal paid for Declan Rice in 2023.

It's arguably a reflection of how much he's worth to Forest rather than his actual value, but with his contract running for another three years, the ball is in their court.

In addition, Anderson is in no rush to push through a move to the Etihad Stadium, with all eyes on how he performs for England at the World Cup.
