Onana will join Man Utd's preseason under Carrick as Trabzonspor push for loan move

Andre Onana will return from loan at Trabzonspor as he prepares to enter Manchester United's preseason camp.

Senne Lammens has established himself as first-choice in his debut season following his arrival from Royal Antwerp in September, pushing Onana out the squad under former manager Ruben Amorim.

Lammens, who was voted as the Premier League’s signing of the season on Monday, will not be replaced by Onana, but the Cameroonian will return to the club for preseason as per Fabrizio Romano.

“Andr9 Onana returns to Manchester United and current plan is to join preseason under Michael Carrick.

“Understand Trabzonspor are still keen on keeping Onana and would like to discuss another loan deal, valid until June 2027.

“Talks will follow with #MUFC and Onana’s camp.”

Onana has been celebrating winning the Turkish Cup with loan club Trabzonspor over the past month, a win which has clearly helped the side make their mind up on the shot stopper who they want to stay for another year.

However, the Red Devils will be keen to free up funds for summer investment, making a loan move unlikely as they recoup the 346M they paid for him back in July 2023.

Onana made 102 appearances for United and despite his dire performances and loan away from the side, his wage is expected to rise over the summer in line with the rest of the squad after United sealed Champions League qualification.
