Cucurella to Barcelona? Chelsea defender "willing to leave" this summer in huge twist

Marc Cucurella is keen to leave Chelsea this summer as he seeks a move back to Spain.

The Athletic report that “multiple clubs” have been making enquiries about the Spanish defender about a potential move, with the likes of Barcelona, Atl9tico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Manchester City all interested.

Cucurella is “willing to leave” this summer, as per the report which states that he is aiming for a move back to La Liga, where Barcelona are the favourites the former La Masia graduate up.

Chelsea will not block an exit for Cucurella as per Sky Sports, but clubs must first their valuation which is unclear. The Spaniard joined from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 for an initial 356M and the club will likely seek to recoup their funds.

The report adds that new manager Xabi Alonso, set to takeover in July, has touched base with Cucurella and is aware of the situation that is still developing.

Barcelona sporting director Deco has been in contact with Cucurella’s representatives as per reports but strengthening the left-back position is not considered a priority which could be a problem for the full-back.

The Spanish giants will monitor the Chelsea star heading into the World Cup where he is bound to discuss his future with his international teammates who may drag him away from West London.
