Barcelona firm favourites to sign Julian Alvarez as PSG pull out of race

PSG have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, leaving Barcelona the firm favourites to secure his signature.

Alvarez, 26, is widely expected to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, no matter how much the club resist the urge to sell.

PSG, Arsenal, and Barcelona have all been heavily linked with a move for the striker, but Hansi Flick’s side are by far the most interested.

According to Diario AS, PSG have decided to pull out of the race for his signature following initial talks with Alvarez’s representatives.

It’s understood that the decision came because PSG were unconvinced Alvarez wanted the move, leaving Barcelona in the driver’s seat.
