Man City could break transfer record to re-sign Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers

Morgan Rogers is one of England's hottest commodities heading into the transfer window.

Fresh from his match-winning display to help Aston Villa win the Europa League final against Freiburg, their first major trophy in 30 years, Rogers is being targeted by several top clubs.

Unai Emery is forced to sell at least one of his star players, as squad cost ratio regulations mean Villa can only spend 70 per cent of club revenue on players.

A big-money sale would keep them within the parameters, and Rogers is expected to leave after an incredible campaign in the Midlands.

Arsenal have launched a pursuit for the 23-year-old ahead of the World Cup, while TEAMtalk revealed that Manchester City could break their transfer record to re-sign the powerful playmaker.

Rogers joined City's academy in 2019 after leaving West Bromwich Albion, and was then sold to Middlesbrough in 2023 before star performances in the Championship earned him a 316 million switch to Villa in 2024.

TEAMtalk claim that, even though Rogers is open-minded about his future ahead of his first World Cup, Aston Villa could demand more than the 3100 million they received for Jack Grealish in 2021.

Grealish remains their record signing, and they may have to smash that total if they want to bring the England international back to the Etihad Stadium, especially with Bayern Munich and PSG engaging in discussions over the player.
