Saudi side Al-Ittihad plot ambitious move for Konate after Liverpool exit confirmed

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are reportedly plotting a move to sign Ibrahima Konate after his Liverpool exit was confirmed.

Konate, 27, is set to leave Liverpool as a free agent once his contract expires at the end of the season, five years after he joined from RB Leipzig.

Several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich are all said to be keen.

According to Foot Mercato, though. Saudi side Al-Ittihad are hoping to beat them all to Konate’s signature.

The club’s instability behind the scenes may make a move unlikely, however, with manager Sergio Conceicao already gone.
