Barcelona want Man City star who Pep Guardiola called 'incredible'

Barcelona have shown an interest in Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol as a potential partner for Pau Cubarsi.

In a blockbuster couple of days, Barca have already agreed an €80 million transfer for Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon, and the 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract after completing his medical.

The Catalan giants are also continuing their pursuit of Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford, while a €100m bid has been submitted to Atletico Madrid for Julian Alvarez.

Hansi Flick is looking to field a star-studded attack next season, and according to the Daily Mail, the German is moving quick to sign a new centre-back.

Barca have placed Man City defender Gvardiol on their transfer wishlist, but any approach will likely be snubbed by the Cityzens as he's said to be a "crucial" part of their plans.

Gvardiol recently returned from injury after breaking his leg in January with a combined 70 minutes of Premier League action against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old, who was once hailed as "incredible" by Pep Guardiola, is now looking towards a brighter future at the Etihad.
