7M - Barcelona Sign Anthony Gordon From Newcastle

Barcelona have reached agreement to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle in a deal reported to total more than €80 million including add-ons, with a fixed fee of about €70 million plus bonuses that push the package beyond €80 million.

The England international is expected to fly to Barcelona this week to undergo a medical and complete contract formalities.

Gordon finished the season as Newcastle's top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions, having signed a long-term extension at St James Park in October 2024 that still had four years to run; he was left unused in the final matches as the club sought to protect him ahead of the move.

Bayern Munich had also been linked with the winger, but Barcelona moved quickly to secure terms and accelerate the transfer, aiming to complete the formalities before upcoming club and international commitments.

Gordon is a versatile forward who can play across the front line, and his Champions League form this season helped attract interest from top European clubs.
