Man City eye move for Sheffield Wednesday 'keeper Charles as Trafford nears exit
Man City are reportedly set to make a move to sign former academy graduate Pierce Charles as they prepare for life without James Trafford.
Trafford, 23, returned to Man City last summer expecting to be the club’s first choice goalkeeper following a fantastic spell with Burnley.
City then went on to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG, and Trafford was limited to the role of a cup goalkeeper.
The England international is now expected to leave again this summer, with Tottenham, Newcastle, and Aston Villa all interested.
According to TalkSport’s Alex Crook, City are now preparing to make a move for Charles, 20, as their new back-up.
Charles is set to leave Sheffield Wednesday following their relegation from the Championship to League One.
