Arsenal star Declan Rice 'gutted' to see West Ham relegated in message to former fans
Arsenal superstar Declan Rice took to social media to send an emotional message to fans of former club West Ham following their relegation.
Rice, 27, moved to West Ham as a 15-year-old following his release from Chelsea, and went on to become a key player.
The midfielder was named captain in 2022-23, and helped them lift their first ever European trophy, the Europa Conference League later that season.
He then made a 3100 million move to Arsenal, but despite his rise superstardom in North London, Rice hasn’t forgotten his West Ham roots.
Taking to Instagram, Rice sent a message to West Ham fans, admitting that he is “gutted” to see them get relegated.
“I'm absolutely gutted to see West Ham relegated,” he said.
"A club that really does mean so much to me. As I said before, I wouldn't be where I am today without everything the club has done for me.
"With that being said, I have no doubt they will be back where they belong in the Premier League in no time. I will be supporting always."
