Liverpool suffer setback as Yan Diomande stays at RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande has reaffirmed his commitment to the Bundesliga side despite strong transfer interest from Liverpool.

The teenage winger, who joined Leipzig from CD Leganes last summer, has enjoyed a sensational breakthrough campaign in Germany and is expected to remain at the Red Bull Arena next season.

Liverpool had been monitoring the highly-rated attacker as they continue plans to strengthen their squad and prepare for the future beyond Mohamed Salah.

However, Diomande’s latest comments suggest he is focused on continuing his development in the Bundesliga.

The youngster has been one of Leipzig’s standout performers this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists as the club sits third in the league table.

His impressive displays were rewarded with the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award, beating Hamburg’s Luka Vuskovic and Bayer Leverkusen star Ibrahim Maza to the honour.
