With this latest milestone, Fernandes joins an elite three man group, matching the historic single season tally of 20 assists previously set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne. His performance in the fixture moved him past Mesut Ozils mark of 19 assists, which he had initially tied in a previous victory over Sunderland.
