AS Roma activate €25m Donyell Malen buy clause from Villa

Donyell Malen’s permanent transfer to AS Roma has now been officially triggered after the Serie A side secured qualification for next season’s Europa League.

The Dutch forward joined the Giallorossi on loan from Aston Villa during the January transfer window, with a €25 million buy clause included in the agreement.

That clause became mandatory if Roma qualified for either the Champions League or Europa League, a condition that has now been fulfilled.

AS Roma0currently sit fifth on 67 points, level with fourth-placed Milan, while Como trail by two points with only two games remaining.

Malen has made a huge impact since arriving at the Olimpico, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in just 16 Serie A appearances, quickly becoming one of Roma’s most important attacking players.
