Mac Allister's father and agent reveals he could leave after no contract talks have begun

Alexis Mac Allister's father and agent has revealed an update on his future as contract talks have not started.

Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Saturday, when they take on Chelsea at Anfield wherein Mac Allister should retain his place in midfield under manager Arne Slot.

Fellow midfielder Ryan Gravenberch signed a six-year deal contract earlier this year whilst reports suggest that talks with Dominik Szoboszlai have already started.

Despite this, Carlos Mac Allister has revealed that no discussions have been made between him, his son or the club in what could be a worrying sign.

“Alexis has a valid contract until June 2028 and so far we are not speaking publicly with any other club.

"We believe that the club's fans deserve this level of respect from the player, and so far the club has not negotiated with us to renew the contract."

Gravenberch, Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz have pushed the Argentina star back in the squad under Slot and with the summer approaching, he may be pondering his future especially as his teammates are handed new deals.

Mac Allister has made 52 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists for Liverpool as they fail to defend their Premier League title.

A huge switch up in the squad is coming for the Reds and Mac Allister may be next in line to depart ahead of the new campaign as Liverpool build a side fit for the title.
