Mbappe to return to face Barcelona despite Real Madrid fans desperate for him to leave

Kylian Mbappe is set to return from injury as Real Madrid host Barcelona this weekend.

An online petition calling for Kylian Mbappe to be sold by Real Madrid at the end of the season that was aiming for 200,000 responses, now has over 30m signatures.

Reports have claimed these signatures may be bots, but before the surge in numbers, the petition still had well over the target set by fans who have made their feelings known on the Frenchman.

Many have predicted that Mbappe has become a scapegoat at the club who have failed on all fronts this season under multiple managers whilst their rivals Barcelona go on to reach more success.

The two sides face one another this weekend in what should be a heated clash. Journalist Abraham P. Romero reported that Mbappe may return, in what would be an intense experience for the 27 year old.

“Update on MBAPP9. He has passed today's tests.

“He did a small part with the group and then worked individually in the gym and with physio.

“This gives him options to at least be in the squad for Barcelona.”

Mbappe insists he remains fully committed to Real Madrid following criticism of his decision to travel abroad whilst injured. A decision that has added on to his reported arrogance and selfish attitude which led to the petition.

Madrid have yet to say whether Mbappe will be fit and available for the Clasico as they trail Barcelona by 11 points with four rounds remaining in what is a dire campaign.
