Casemiro ‘eternally grateful’ to Man Utd as he confirms Old Trafford exit

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has confirmed he will leave Manchester United as a free agent this summer.

Despite supporters urging him to stay, the 34-year-old says his “cycle is over” and he is ready for a new challenge.

Signed from Real Madrid for €70.65 million in 2022, he has made 159 appearances and scored 26 goals.

He has ruled out extending his stay, saying the decision is final as he prepares for his next chapter.

"I don't think there's a chance, there's no chance (of staying another year). It's leaving through the front door,” Casemiro told ESPN.

“It's been four beautiful, wonderful years, and I'm eternally grateful not only to the club, but to the fans.

“I think if there's one thing I'll cherish most from these four years here, it's having the fans with me. But no, I think it's over. The cycle has ended here."
