Cunha suggests Casemiro could stay at Man Utd despite summer interest: You never know

Matheus Cunha has suggested that Casemiro could stay with Manchester United despite talks over a summer move.

Casemiro scooped Manchester United's Player of the Month prize for April before pulling off another fantastic performance in the 3-2 win over Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian has nine goals and two assists in 34 appearances in all competitions this season and has proved pivotal to the club’s sudden revival under interim boss Michael Carrick.

Unfortunately, the midfielder will leave United when his contract expires at the end of June as reports suggest that talks with top clubs such as Inter Miami begin.

However, Casemiro’s teammate and compatriot Cunha has suggested that the future is not certain and anything could happen in the coming months.

"I play with him in the national team and I know how important he is. He's an amazing guy. And yeah, to have this guy in the dressing room is a privilege.

"We don't know in the end how it is with his contract, and then of course we, everyone, hopes there's a little bit more. Of course, of course, I know it's harder than we talked about, but yeah, in the end, you never know."

United booked their place back in the Champions League with the win over Liverpool, something that could force Carrick to hold talks with Casemiro as he thinks of the rotation needed for not just Europe but four competitions next season.
