Chelsea 'open talks' over new contract for Trevoh Chalobah

Chelsea are reportedly in talks with defender Trevoh Chalobah over a new contract.

Chalobah, 26, has been a key player for struggling Chelsea this season, starting 30 of his 31 Premier League games so far.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Chelsea are looking to tie down Chalobah’s long term future with a new deal.

The centre back has previously been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge and even spent the first half of last season on loan at Chrystal Palace.

Chelsea appear to have had a change of heart, however, and are keen on offering him an extension beyond his current deal, which expires in 2028.
