Mauricio Pochettino, currently managing Argentina ahead of the FIFA World Cup, has expressed openness to a future return to the Premier League. In an interview with podcast The Overlap published April 30, 2026, the Argentine coach reflected on his tenure at Tottenham Hotspur and affirmed his enduring connection to English football.
When questioned about a potential comeback to Tottenham, Pochettino stated: One day, yes, because I really like England. I think my profile, both personally and as a coach, fits very well with the Premier League. His remarks have reignited speculation among Spurs supporters regarding his long-term plans.
During his time at Tottenham, Pochettino guided the club to some of its most successful recent campaigns. He led Spurs to the UEFA Champions League final in the 2018-19 season and mounted a serious title challenge in 2015-16, when Leicester City ultimately claimed the Premier League trophy. That era cemented both the club's status among England's elite and Pochettino's reputation as a top-tier manager.
While his immediate focus remains on preparing Argentina for the upcoming World Cup as a host nation, Pochettino's comments suggest he has not ruled out another chapter in English football. For now, no concrete links to specific Premier League clubs have emerged, but his affinity for the league and its style of play remains evident.
