Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has disclosed she became an Arsenal supporter because of club icon Thierry Henry, describing him as perhaps the greatest player ever.

Hollywood stunner Anne Hathaway explains how her dad picked Arsenal as the team she must support
The Academy Award winner made the revelation during a BBC interview with fellow actress Meryl Streep, explaining how her affection for the Gunners originated from a childhood experience watching football with her father.
Hathaway told Streep: North London forever whatever the weather. There was a squad called The Invincibles. And in it maybe the greatest player of all time, Thierry Henry was playing and I was watching with my dad. And James McAvoy was narrating it for him, and my dad was like that is it, I am an Arsenal fan. And once someone from your family declares, that is so. So yeah, my dad would never have allowed me to support any other team.

The Invincible season was the last time Arsenal won the Premier League
The actress also expressed confidence that Mikel Arteta's team can finally deliver major trophies again, stating: We have got a great squad and if anybody is going to do this, it is these guys. North London forever.
These remarks come as Arsenal continues their pursuit of a first Premier League championship since the legendary Invincibles campaign of 2003-04, when they completed the season undefeated under Arsene Wenger.
However, the current season has proven challenging for the Gunners. Arteta's side has experienced a difficult period in recent weeks, dropping crucial points in a competitive title race. They have suffered defeats in their last three domestic matches, exiting the FA Cup and losing the League Cup final.
Despite these setbacks, Arsenal remains in contention for the league title and will look to recover when they face Newcastle United this weekend in what could be a pivotal fixture.
