The agent of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has denied contact with Barcelona.

Alvarez is a confirmed target for Barca, with both president Joan Laporta and sports director Deco admitting their admiration.

It was reported this week that Alvarez had sent his two brothers to look at properties in Barcelona.

But agent Fernando Hidalgo told Mundo Deportivo: "1,000 per cent false.

"No one in the family has been in Barcelona. The last time was for the match against Atletico, and they returned to Madrid the next day."

Alvarez's deal with Atletico runs to .2030.
