7M - World Cup Final Tickets Hit 1.7M Pounds Each On FIFA Resale Platform

World Cup final ticket prices have reached unprecedented levels on FIFA's official resale platform, with four category one seats listed at $2,299,998.85, approximately £1.7 million, per ticket.
According to Sky News, these seats are positioned behind one of the goals in the lower tier and do not provide the optimal pitch view. Other tickets within the same category and section remain available at prices just under £12,000.
FIFA does not regulate asking prices on its secondary market portal, yet stands to generate substantial revenue if the high-value listings sell. The governing body collects a 15 percent facilitation fee from both buyer and seller, potentially yielding close to £450,000 should all four premium seats be purchased.
A FIFA spokesperson stated that the organization's ticket sales and secondary market framework reflects standard practices for major sporting and entertainment events across host nations. The resale fees and variable pricing approach, they noted, align with industry standards throughout North American sports and entertainment sectors, aiming to optimize attendance and ensure fair market valuation.
This development follows earlier controversy when a group stage ticket for Scotland's match against Brazil appeared on the resale site with an asking price of £8.635 million, sparking widespread criticism.
As the tournament progresses, fans and observers continue to monitor the secondary market, where pricing dynamics reflect both demand and the unique structure of FIFA's official resale system.
