Man Utd directors contact Fernandes about U-turn

Manchester United chiefs have stressed to captain Bruno Fernandes that they do not want to him to leave this summer.

After showing a willingness to sell the midfielder last year, which left Fernandes hurt and insulted, United's directors have performed a U-turn.

The Sun says management are desperate to hold onto Fernandes given his outstanding campaign.

Fernandes’ contract includes a buyout clause of €65m, which can be triggered by any overseas club.

However, with Champions League qualification now close to being clinched, there is a confidence inside United that Fernandes will shelve plans to leave.

Fernandes' contract runs to 2027, with United also holding a 12 month option to extend.
