FC Bayern have reached the DFB-Pokal final for the first time since 2020. In the semi-final, the Munich side won 2–0 away against Bayer Leverkusen. Individual player ratings for the FCB squad.
Having sealed the league title with a reserve side against VfB Stuttgart on Sunday, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany, as expected, returned to his strongest starting line-up against Leverkusen. Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, and Luis Diaz wrapped up the win with a late second in the 93rd minute.
In the Berlin final on 23 May, Bayern will meet the winner of the Baden-Württemberg derby between VfB Stuttgart and SC Freiburg.

Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Manuel Neuer
He was hardly tested until Neuer produced a superb save to deny Nathan Talla (52’), and he was fully justified in celebrating the stop like a goal. In the 75th minute, he pulled off another decisive intervention, this time smothering a dangerous counter-attack near the halfway line. Rating: 2.5.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Josip Stanisic
One of only four players still standing from Stuttgart’s starting line-up. In the 56th minute, Stanisic made a dangerous run into the Leverkusen penalty area. As he shaped to shoot, Ernest Poku caught him on the ankle. After brief treatment, Stanisic carried on. Rating: 3.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Dayot Upamecano
A really strong performance from Upamecano! He was extremely confident in defence, for example with his tackle on Nathan Tella midway through the first half. Upamecano also regularly made runs deep into the opposition’s half. He shot over the bar in the fifth minute following a set-piece move, and won the ball back in the build-up to the 1–0 goal. Rating: 1.5.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen v FC Bayern München - DFB Cup Semifinal
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Jonathan Tah
Sharp and alert at his former club, Tah read the game well, showing smart anticipation throughout. Rating: 2.5.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Konrad Laimer
He repeatedly drifted into the centre, where he was an effective passing option. He was extremely aggressive in his challenges, and five fouls were awarded against him. Rating: 3.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Joshua Kimmich
He won the ball frequently in central midfield. However, Kimmich’s numerous lobbed and through balls into the penalty area were mostly too imprecise. Rating: 3.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings by Aleksandar Pavlovic
Just before half-time, he brought down Ibrahim Maza with a sliding tackle during a counter-attack and was shown a yellow card. Midway through the second half, Pavlovic struck Maza in the face, but this time got away with a warning. Shortly afterwards, Kompany substituted him as a precaution. Rating: 3.5.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Michael Olise
In his 100th competitive appearance for FC Bayern, Olise showed his trademark magic. He set up Kane’s 1–0 goal with a brilliant backheel pass to Musiala. At times a little too provocative, Olise was involved in a heated scuffle with Exequiel Palacios just before half-time. Rating: 2.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen v FC Bayern München - DFB Cup Semifinal
Bayer Leverkusen vs FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Jamal Musiala
With Serge Gnabry sidelined, Musiala has reclaimed his starting berth in high-profile fixtures and is edging ever closer to his peak form. Against Leverkusen he buzzed with creativity, threading dribbles and incisive passes. He laid on Kane’s opener and has now contributed five goals or assists in his last four outings. The 49th-minute effort that Robert Andrich cleared off the line was a reminder of his own threat. Rating: 2.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings—Luis Diaz
Diaz tested Leverkusen goalkeeper Mark Flekken with a crisp shot in the 16th minute, but the keeper saved it. He then showed smarts by letting Musiala’s low cross run through to Kane for the opener. In stoppage time, the VAR confirmed his second goal, sealing a 2–0 win. Rating: 2.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern: Player Ratings — Harry Kane
Early on, Kane appealed for a penalty but didn’t get it – and instead scored the opening goal from open play. He then went on to squander several good chances to add to his tally. Rating: 2.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Bayern, ratings: Substitutes
Leon Goretzka: Replaced Pavlovic in the 74th minute as the latter risked a second yellow card. Despite a wayward finish in the 80th minute, he soon assisted Diaz’s goal to make it 2–0. No rating.
Alphonso Davies: Replaced Laimer in the 74th minute, slotting in at left-back. Shortly after, he outran Maza on a counter-attack. No rating.
Min-Jae Kim: Replaced Musiala in the 84th minute. No rating.
